Under the Buddha's eye

Rich kingdoms of the past; British colonialism; the generals’ dictatorship right next to the simultaneous apotheosis of Buddhism and the recent eight years of moderate democracy have created a mixture unique on a global scale, one could say, unprecedented civilization. In this part of the world, where loads of houses do not have doors at all, everyone has time to talk. Human faces with frank smiles are looking forward to the contact with a pilgrim, being an only reliable source of information from the big wide world, which hasn’t yet been censured by the power of the generals.
